FRIDAY NIGHT ON THE BALTIC PRINCESS. ( more day six)

We booked a return ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn, thinking it would be the quiet two hour cruise that we had when coming to Helsinki.
The port  terminal was crowded, but we just thought there were a lot of Estonians going home for the weekend.
As I was feeling unwell I found a  banquette in quiet corner of a bar to sleep away the journey.
Suddenly  I was awakened by people singing and laughing and then a piano started to play and a vocalist singing, “stangers in the night”
Sleepily I realised that everybody around me was dressed up, there was a queue of people waiting to go into the restaurant many of which were collecting a glass of champagne on the way in.
Michael had been taking to a French couple, who were just as bemused as we were and they discovered that this was a party ship with 2000 people on board, most of whom were intent on a good time. with a meal, lots of booze, they booked an overnight cabin and then visited Tallinn the next day and returned on Saturday evening.
So I explored the ship to find
a noisy pub with sport and lots of men cheering.
a two story cabaret room with entertainment and dancing.
several restaurants

Throughout the journey, various musical groups and dancer came through my “quiet bar”  from Latin American in full costume, to this Spanish group.

Hen parties, Stag parties, birthday parties and groups of people in the supermarket buying huge boxes of beer wines, spirits and cigarettes.

Nothing wrong with this if you are out for a good night but I just wanted to sleep!.

Was I glad to return to My City Hotel and our comfortable room.
