ROMANTIC PARIS
Valentines day 14th February 2012
..and I am sans ma amant en Paris
Start with what my friend thought was a proposal, because after she enlarged her picture of them as they were embracing, it looked like the girl was admiring a new ring, how cool is that!
Then the statue of Henry iv on the point of the ile de Cite. Commisioned by his widow Marie de Medicis.
Ok, OK, I know the locks on Pont des Arts are causing and environmental problem, but hey! it’s Valentines day….give them some romance!
This guy is even climbing up the lamp post to attach his lock.
….and gets a kiss as a reward!
Another happy couple, near Notre Dame. Matching PARIS hats. Ahh!

Sadly my Valentines was spent alone, walking in the Tuilleries.
Even children cuddling their mother added to me missing my man!
But I laughed at this statue! A sculpture after my own heart
So I had a ride on the big wheel on Place de la Concorde.
..and a walk along the Seine.
Then I consoled myself with an indulgent crepe!

It was a real pleasure to look at your photos of "signs of love" in Paris this morning while sipping my tea. Thanks for the treat!The curvaceous statue in the Tuileries Garden is my own personal favorite.
